2024 Power of Resilience Scholarship Winner: Dajhon Williams
Dajhon Williams grew up in Ward 8, Southeast Washington, D.C., a community shaped by both resilience and systemic challenges like housing instability and health disparities. As the oldest of two siblings, he learned the value of perseverance and responsibility early in life. In high school, he struggled academically, earning mostly Ds and Cs. However, by his junior year, he recognized that education was his path to a better future. Through persistence, long hours of studying, and support from teachers, he turned his academic performance around earning a spot on the Dean’s List every semester of his senior year. This experience reinforced his belief that resilience and determination can overcome any obstacle

Dajhon is passionate about mentorship, advocacy, and breaking barriers for others. He dedicates his time to uplifting youth in his community, sharing his story to inspire others to believe in their potential. By mentoring students, he helps them see college as an attainable goal, encouraging them to push past limitations and pursue their dreams. His efforts go beyond individual mentorship his broader mission is to create lasting change for underserved communities by advocating for educational and healthcare equity.
Dajhon earned his Associate of Science degree in Information Technology before completing his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a 3.9 GPA. Currently, he is pursuing a Master of Public Health at Brown University, maintaining a 4.0 GPA. His ultimate goal is to become a radiologist, using his expertise in technology and medicine to address healthcare disparities in underserved communities.
